The founding
COLORUM was created in 2010 as the second-generation continuation of the family craft — not as a break from it, but as its modernisation.
A second-generation printing family that rebuilt itself into a modern branding and visual communication company — and kept the discipline.
The story starts in Jharia, Dhanbad, in the late 1970s, with a treadle letterpress machine and a father who spent his working life in this trade. That business is no longer operating. What it taught did not stop.
Letterpress teaches things that survive every technology change: that registration either lines up or it does not, that a job is either complete or it is not, and that the person who hands you the work is trusting you with their name.
The name was built around a simple idea that still runs the company: colourful, varied requirements brought together under a single umbrella.
COLORUM was created in 2010 as the second-generation continuation of the family craft — not as a break from it, but as its modernisation.
The founder trained in animation and started across video, graphic design and websites. The realisation that tangible deliverables carried far more weight in this market redirected the whole business.
Serving retail customers with the standards developed for corporate work is what allowed COLORUM to scale without lowering the bar.
Capabilities have been upgraded to current-generation requirements while keeping the craft and discipline inherited from the earlier printing business. The infrastructure is substantially in-house — because control over production is what makes a promised date real.
The ambition is not to be the biggest supplier in the region. It is to build a benchmark others want to copy — and not merely through machines, but through systems, culture and execution.
The horizon is not restricted to Eastern India, or to India.
These are not aspirational statements for a website. They are the decisions that get made when a project goes wrong at 9pm.
Money is a by-product of that, not the objective that overrides it.
Whether it is worth ₹150 or ₹1.5 crore, it gets the same seriousness.
If COLORUM causes a production error, we would rather absorb it than make the client suffer for it.
Quantity integrity is a trust issue. It is not a rounding error.
We do not compete on a rate at which the required quality cannot be delivered sustainably.
Solve the client’s problem even when the right solution reduces today’s revenue.
Automate repetitive work and keep searching for a better way to do it.
Private project information does not become public marketing material.
Every segment sits at sixty degrees — equal weight, no exceptions. If one breaks, the circle breaks. Trust sits at the centre.
A seven-year-old’s imagination, without unnecessary limitation.
A thirteen-year-old’s curiosity and appetite for experimentation.
A twenty-five-year-old’s energy, availability and dependability.
A thirty-year-old’s discipline and repeatable excellence.
A forty-year-old’s maturity about what a relationship is worth.
A sixty-year-old’s experience, judgement and precision.
The COLORUM LIFE™
Learn. Improve.
Find a Better Way.
Every Day.
Behind the framework is a working habit. The standing instruction inside the company is direct: if you are doing any repetitive task, bring it to me — I will automate it and save your time and extra effort.
That is not technology for its own sake. Automation here exists to remove repetitive human effort, reduce avoidable errors, shorten cycle time and free people to spend more of their day on work that actually needs judgement.
Asked before the job starts, not after it goes wrong.
The test every decision has to pass.
Their deadline is the one that matters.
Not for our part of it. For the outcome.
Fixed deadlines energise this team. When a date is committed, the internal question is how — not whether.
We aim for the long-term financial freedom of the people who build this, and measure them on quality, timeliness, ownership and learning — not only output volume.
Training and skill development are part of the job, not a perk. The benchmark is that the team is better this year than last.
If you want a supplier, there are many. If you want someone who will own the outcome of the project, start the conversation here.
